Cassian Andor Appreciation Week ♡ Day 3: Alliance Intelligence ♡ The Final Mission
The Death Star is your answer. Finish this mission, and all is forgiven.
A ficlet for @siachti and @englishable, who probably weren’t expecting something quite this grim. I’d apologize, but well… this is where the prompts for Day Three (Alliance Intelligence/Fulcrum, “collateral damage”) and Four (“silence”) of Cassian Appreciation Week led me.
Your mistakes aren’t the worst of it, other Fulcrum agents had warned him. You might expect that, but no.
They sting, they wound—how could it not, knowing that your error, your wrong choice, led to people dying?—but they also reflect imperfect knowledge. Time pressure. Not seeing the terrain clearly through the fog of war. Things that, as clichéd as it is to say, could happen to anyone.
Other times, it’s been the harsh demands of self-preservation. Tivik was bad, but at least he’d done his own killing that time. Looked the man in the eye. Had a reason more pressing, less abstract than the calculus of what was to be gained in future.
No, the deaths you let happen with clean hands and clear sight are the worst.
Every time he leaves a city knowing exactly when it will be bombed. Every time ships jump straight into an ambush because warning them would be too obvious. Every time he and Draven agree they can’t act on intercepted intelligence yet, because it could give away their source and choke off the flow of valuable information. Standing aside, watching the numbers on a screen tick up and up.
Cassian’s silence has killed more than his hands ever will.
A Sociologist Examines the “White Fragility” That Prevents White Americans from Confronting Racism
DiAngelo addresses her book mostly to white people, and she reserves her harshest criticism for white liberals like herself (and like me), whom she sees as refusing to acknowledge their own participation in racist systems. “I believe,” she writes, “that white progressives cause the most daily damage to people of color.” Not only do these people fail to see their complicity, but they take a self-serving approach to ongoing anti-racism efforts:
“To the degree that white progressives think we have arrived, we will put our energy into making sure that others see us as having arrived.” Even the racial beliefs and responses that feel authentic or well-intentioned have likely been programmed by white supremacy, to perpetuate white supremacy. Whites profit off of an American political and economic system that showers advantages on racial “winners” and oppresses racial “losers.”
Yet, DiAngelo writes, white people cling to the notion of racial innocence, a form of weaponized denial that positions black people as the “havers” of race and the guardians of racial knowledge. Whiteness, on the other hand, scans as invisible, default, a form of racelessness.
“Color blindness,” the argument that race shouldn’t matter, prevents us from grappling with how it does.

In a few weeks I will be uploading some posts on common problems for eil writers when using English. These are some of the topics that will be covered:
– Common sentence structures
– Types of clauses
– Problem Words
– How to give texture to a piece of writing
If there’s any topic that you would like us to tackle, do not hesitate to send an ask. Additionally, if you have any questions about a particular topic/structure/construction/item of vocabulary/etc that is giving you issues, drop us a few lines, we’ll be glad to be of assistance!

woke Jurassic Park discourse: Should we build up expensive theme parks in Costa Rican islands that could destroy their fragile ecosystems beyond repair and lead to the extinction of endemic species?

WHY WAS THIS NOT IN THE FINAL CUT.
Or even the Special Editions. This is GREAT.
C3PO YOU FUCKER
I have a new favorite Star Wars moment.
I love how the guy who opened the door is just like “it’s too late he was a dick any way no one will miss him I’ll just close this door”

black mirror season 4
Savage
Oh wow
This is super epic.
He was obnoxious to begin with, it is true, but if he moves forward in this wooing as a respectful dude, he will text her something nice like it was fun to meet her or maybe ask her on a date. Mom will text him back and there will be a bit of confusion before he realizes what happened. He’ll be a bit chagrined and mom will probably feel bad enough for him being rejected to make him cookies or something.
HOWEVER
If he starts in with that fuckboy shit (asking for sex right out the gate, dick picks, asking for nudes, etc.), he will learn the ultimate lesson.
In short, he is only fucked if he fucks himself.
This is Greek Mythology levels of savage.
