Based on a conversation about accents with @cassianandorjyn, and inspired by Finding Your Voice by @sleepykalena, I present to you: the K-2SO and Cassian Dream Team That Could Have Been.
Being that:
1. Accents are a piece of our identity. (As cassianandorjyn put it in their fic, heart as my compass; stars as my path, a man with an accent “carries his home with him.”)
2. The Empire is strongly associated with RP British accents.
3. Cassian freed K-2SO from serving the Empire and gave him free will.
4. K-2SO High Key hero worships Cassian,
then clearly, when he was reprogrammed, K-2 should have chosen a Mexican accent for himself, to sound like The Coolest Captain Of The Rebellion.
Which leads us to ask: who would then play K-2SO? We would need an actor who
1. is Mexican.
2. is good at many accents, because K-2 is supposed to be working with a spy so he should be good at fitting in in different places. (Also because in the inevitable prequel film, K-2 and Cassian: Before They Went Rogue, there will obviously be a scene during the reprogramming, in which K-2 tries out various accents – space!Chilean, space!Spanish, space!Argentine, etc – before choosing one that just happens to sound like his knight in shining armor.)
3. has a good rapport with Diego Luna.
I therefore humbly submit before you the retroactive fancasting of Cassian Andor and K-2SO:
why is it that villains and not protagonists are always the ones breaking gender roles hmmmm
it’s called queercoding and it’s intentional and basically brainwashes kids into having negative associations with those traits
it backfired. now i’m just hot for super villains.
Secret Relationship + I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On, Bodhi/Cassian
Okay, so Everyone Lives canon divergent AU, the turning on happens first. Cassian’s out in the field, under fire, things are tight and he’s not sure what his out is going to be. Then Bodhi (who is healing really well, finally got some therapy, taking up old hobbies – including swoop-bike racing) sweeps out of ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE and like LANDS on the attackers, executing the neatest little turn Cassian has ever seen. Cassian jumps on the back of the bike and then Bodhi guns it, Cassian’s heart is in his throat and his blood is somewhere distinctly lower and more obvious.
They get back to the ship, get to safety, Bodhi can’t quite stop himself from teasing Cassian. Cassian decides that he’s been obvious enough about things that he might as well just go for it, and some DISTINCTLY NSFW things occur before they get back to the Rebellion.
Which then begins their Secret Relationship. Bodhi assumes this is because they are at War and Cassian must be Grimly Sacrificial, and sure, that’s fine, he’ll play it cool in public and have his fun in private, there’s a lot of storage closets. Besides, he gets these amazing soft moments now, cuddling Cassian after he sneaks into Cassian’s room, giving him little anonymous gifts. It’s good! Bodhi’s happy.
What Bodhi doesn’t know, is that their relationship is a secret even TO CASSIAN, because he thinks they’ve managed to fall into an oddly affectionate FWB situation, that he has Too Many Emotions about but he is going to be Chill because he is a responsible adult who can definitely handle casual.
Cassian doens’t figure out they’re actually dating until after Endor, at which point Bodhi proposes and Cassian has a lot of Relational Catching Up to do.
Give me two tropes and a pairing and I’ll tell you what I’d write!
AU: Let me see them… my parents. Please.
I would’ve cried in the cinema
THIS IS WHAT SHOULD’VE FUCKING HAPPENED
Okay, I love this so freaking much, and I’m having Some Thoughts. I’m probably not the first person to have these particular thoughts, but I haven’t come across the main idea anywhere before, so I’m gonna put it down here.
Rey should absolutely have been a Skywalker, and I think TFA primed us for that. But I’m also kinda uncomfortable with the idea that the force is tied to certain bloodlines. I don’t want Rey to be strong with the force just because she has Skywalker blood, like it’s some kind of prerequisite. Like you can only have this power if you’re part of the right family. Maz, Obi-Wan, and Yoda each describe the force as an energy source that surrounds and binds us all, something that’s a part of every living being. If this is true, then anyone ought to be able to access the force if they’re willing to make the effort to connect with it.
So that said, what if Luke adopted Rey? Suppose she was still a baby when her birth parents died, and there was no other family left to take her in. Maybe Luke was a friend of theirs. Loyal and compassionate as always, he refused to abandon her and decided to raise her as his own. He himself grew up with his aunt and uncle, and Leia told him stories about her life with the Organas, so he knew what he was getting into, and how much of a difference he could make. Over the next few years he became Rey’s father in everything but blood, and they grew to love each other deeply. But then came the attack, and Rey vanished.
In this version of the story, Luke wouldn’t feel guilt for trying to kill his nephew (an action that was never within his character anyway). He would feel grief over the loss of his nephew and (more importantly) his daughter, as well as guilt over his inability to save and protect them both. It makes sense, under the weight of such loss and self-blame, for him to seek out isolation. It makes sense (as the above gifset suggests) to cut himself off from the force when it’s a constant reminder that Rey is still out there and that he’s failing her all over again because he can’t find her.
(On that note, what if Snoke was behind Rey’s disappearance in the first place? What if he somehow understood that, for his plans to succeed, he would need to separate Luke from Rey, and so he arranged for her to be left on Jakku? He wouldn’t want to kill her outright; after all, she might prove useful in the future.)
Rey as Luke’s adopted daughter plays to the theme of choice over fate. It reminds us that lineage isn’t as important as the people who genuinely care for us, the people we choose and who choose us in return. We’ve already seen this with Rey and Finn finding family in each other, helping and protecting and coming back for each other. We’ve also seen how, for certain people, being born into the Skywalker family didn’t stop them from choosing to reject it and turn to the dark side. So what if Rey wasn’t born a Skywalker, but she can use the force anyway? What if Luke’s lightsaber calls to her because she is his chosen family? What if anybody can be strong with the force, and what matters most is what we choose to do with it?
hey guys here’s my review of how much various horror movies fit their titles
scream: there is a respectable amount of screaming. could have been called “guy in a screamy mask with a knife” but they took a risk with the title and I respect that 7/10
the descent: there is a good amount of descending in this movie 8/10
it follows: it does, in fact, follow 9/10
Oculus: dumb. Idk what oculus means and I don’t care. shld have been called “murder mirror” 0/10
the babadook: movie is based around an entity known as the babadook. very good 10/10
creep: I guess the guy is fairly creepy, but I i wish the title was a little more specific. Work the wolf mask in there next time 5/10
the exorcist: there is an exorcist 8/10
the houses that October built: October can’t build houses. It’s a month. Idiots. 2/10 because it does, at least, take place in October
silent hill: I don’t think there are any hills that are more silent than the average hill in this movie 1/10
paranormal activity: there is activity that is fairly paranormal 9/10
the blair witch project: I guess what they’re doing could be counted as a project, and it DOES involve the blair witch, but I’d call it more of a “documentary” than a “project” 7/10
split: there are, to the best of my knowledge, no splits of either the gymnastic or banana variety in this movie 0/10
the midnight meat train: there is a train at midnight, and some meat themes throughout the movie, but the train itself is not filled with meat 6/10
the conjuring: nothing is actually conjured. they’re actually trying to get rid of something, which is like. the opposite of conjuring -100/10
it: ‘it’ could refer to anything. the clown. the paper boat. the bond of friendship between a misfit gang of children. this makes me want to explode. 2/10
as above, so below: i’d say hell is fairly different than paris. 4/10 because i think paris is kinda overrated
don’t breathe: would be solid advice if people didn’t need to breathe. should be ‘breathe, but as quietly as possible’ 6/10
alien: yup! 10/10
hereditary: i guess? seems like it won’t really be carried on after this generation, though 7/10
the killing of a sacred deer: no deer, sacred or otherwise, are killed. not even once 0/10
silence of the lambs: lambs being quiet IS referenced in the movie once, but again, there are zero lambs on-screen 3/10
the vvitch: there sure is one 8/10
funny games: NOT funny -20/10
there sure is one
hey trans friends
if you need binders/breast forms/makeup/etc but don’t want your parents to know, now is the best time to get it.
you can order whatever it is online and when the package comes in if the ask what it is you can say something like “it’s a secret!” or even just sssh them. they’ll assume it’s a present for whatever holiday you celebrate and probably won’t press the issue.
oh my god this is amazing
I normally don’t reblog stuff like this but this is a very important life hack!
make sure you actually buy a present though or else this is all going to fall apart. it doesn’t have to be expensive, e.g. a “best dad” mug, socks, a bath bomb, multi-tool variations of everyday objects, soap, tea, a candle, et cetera.
November/December, Happy Holidays

Yes, but as a note:
You must DECLARE AFFIRMATIVELY that you are invoking your right to remain silent!! If you just stay silent, you haven’t actually invoked the right. It’s an annoying legal thing, but you have to speak in order to stay silent. All you have to do is say “I am exercising my right to remain silent” (and then DO remain silent after that!).
That last bit is due to a somewhat recent Supreme Court decision.
